December is here! Thank you for all you are doing to support events and activities that make our St. John community so vibrant. Recently, we have had many volunteer requests as we return to in-person events, including some last-minute requests. You have jumped in to meet those needs every time. Thank you! Below is a summary of the hours accounted for by our Volunteer SignUpGenius. We know there are hundreds of additional hours devoted to recess duty, volunteering in the classrooms, behind the scenes work on celebrations, events, teacher gifts, weekly class communications, and more. You all are so amazing!

Campus Safety Informational: Assistant Principal Kelley joined us to share information about St. John’s protocols and systems in place to keep our kids safe while they are at school. Our Admin Team and Safety Committee review our protocols on an ongoing basis to ensure we utilize best practices. All staff receive annual training on safety procedures for a wide variety of events that would impact students. Students also participate in safety-related drills throughout the year. Some safety-related protocols are not shared widely due to their sensitive nature.

Click here for a summary of campus safety information shared at the meeting.

If you are looking for resources to talk to your kids about safety, check out Ms. Shaw’s School Counseling page as well as her monthly newsletters in NewsViews. Also, The Family Handbook contains information relevant to this topic. Have questions about campus safety? Send them to Administration@st-johnschool.org.
