PA Rep Resources

Thank you for volunteering as PA Rep to support your grade! As a PA Rep, you will:

  • Function as the point person between the larger PA and grade-specific team.
  • Build grade-level community with families by organizing two parent/family social events per year.
  • Volunteer for at least one event planning committee such as the Back to School BBQ or Spirit Lunch.
  • Attend monthly PA meetings and take notes once during the academic school year to be shared across all grade levels
  • Volunteer for as many school community events as possible and encourage other parents in your grade to volunteer.

Ideally, there will be two PA Reps per grade. These do NOT need to be classroom specific.

Grade-Level Social Ideas

PA Reps help build community and connection amongst parents and families within your grade. We hope you will plan at least two socials/gatherings during the school year specifically for your grade. These gatherings can be anything of your choosing and should aim to be inclusive. Here are a few ideas for you to consider.

  • Barbecue
  • Bingo Night
  • Bowling Night
  • Group Hike
  • Happy Hour at Local Spots
  • Park Picnic
  • Sports Night (Mariners, Reign, Storm)
  • Tennis and Pickle Ball
  • Trivia
  • Wine Tasting

PA Meeting Notes

PA Meetings will occur once a month on a Friday at 8:30a.m. in Egan Hall. Meeting dates will be advertised in NewsViews. This year, we will ask each grade’s PA Reps to be responsible for taking meeting notes once during the academic year. You will be given a meeting notes template and an agenda. Following the meeting, compile notes and send to Parent_Association@st-johnschool.org. Notes will be distributed to all PA Reps and Room Parents across all grades as well as posted on the PA website.

Feel free to use meeting notes in any way that is helpful to you. For specific information you feel is important for your grade, please follow up with your grade-level PA team accordingly.
