Hospitality Chair Resources

Thank you for volunteering as Hospitality Chair to support your grade! Your role involves the following:

1) Teacher appreciation for your grade as well as your assigned month for the entire staff. This includes:

  • Organizing a potluck lunch for the staff as assigned by grade.
  • Gifts for your grade teachers and assistants, as well as any other staff you wish to recognize through the year. Typically this means gifting at Christmas and end of year, often Scrip gift cards. Some grades choose to recognize teacher birthdays (if they are willing to share that info) or Teacher Appreciation Day during Catholic Schools Week if the budget allows.
  • Requesting and handling donations from families for teacher gift donations.

2) Coordinate volunteers from your grade to host 2 days of Coffee & Donuts, dates as assigned.

Here are some resources to get you started. These are intended to be examples of how gifting could work for your grade. The Parent Association aims to coordinate gifting for teachers and staff for Christmas, Teacher Appreciation, an All Staff Appreciation lunch during one month of the school year, and end of year. The examples include some additional gifting for teachers and support staff that goes above and beyond these guidelines (e.g., other holidays, birthdays). This is not expected or required. It is up to you, the rest of your PA team, and the parents in your grade to determine the appropriate frequency and type of gifts to acknowledge teachers and support staff.
