Our Mission
The Parent Association facilitates, encourages and ensures ongoing community-building by providing activities, events, and service to the parish and school community. The Parent Association is a vehicle for supporting communication between home and school, offering a mechanism for education and serving as a structure for political action when needed. This will be accomplished in accordance with the policies of the Archdiocese of Seattle and the goals of this parish, in collaboration with the Pastor and Principal.
All parents/guardians of students attending St. John School are members of the Parent Association and are welcome to join meetings.
Parent Association Grade-Level Roles
Below are brief descriptions of the grade-level roles. We welcome each grade’s team to determine what works best in support of your grade. For more detailed information on each role, check out the Resources page.

Room Parent: Acts as teacher liaison, handles parent communications, and coordinates any teacher/classroom needs and opportunities for involvement.
Parent Association (PA) Reps: Builds grade-level community with families by organizing parent/class socials, participates in PA-led event committees, attends monthly PA meetings and participates in shared note-taking, volunteers to support as many school/class events as possible, and encourages others to volunteer.
Hospitality Chairs: Oversees gift-giving for teachers/assistants and school staff throughout the year, coordinates grade-level voluntary contributions, manages gift giving budgets, and plans teacher/staff luncheon.
Classroom Auction Coordinator (formerly known as Liaison) Resources: Serves as the main contact to organize their class’s auction package and art project, relays information, collects funds, and supports overall auction success alongside family volunteers.
