Technology promised to transform learning. But as screens have steadily crept into nearly every aspect of education, many parents and educators are asking whether EdTech has gone too far – and how they can push for less screen use in the classroom.

Emily Cherkin, M.Ed., a former teacher and nationally recognized speaker known as The Screentime Consultant, joins us for a timely ParentMap Talks conversation to help parents take a closer look at technology’s role in their children’s education. As a parent who opted her teens out of the student laptop, Cherkin brings a unique blend of professional expertise and personal experience to the conversation. Cherkin will help you understand how EdTech impacts learning, feel confident speaking up when something feels off and discover how families and schools across the country are already taking action to minimize the downsides of classroom tech.

You’ll learn:

  • What every parent should know about EdTech today
  • How communities are already redefining screen use in schools
  • The steps to opt out your child from classroom tech
  • Ways to promote screen-free learning at home

Whether you’re curious about the role of tech in your child’s classroom or are ready to take action, this conversation is for you. Reserve your spot here for the live Zoom talk — and get access to the recording to watch anytime.
